Hydrogen fluoride(Cas 7664-39-3) Usage
|
General Description |
Hydrogen fluoride, also known as hydrofluoric acid, is a colorless, highly corrosive and toxic chemical compound. It is a weak acid and can be found in both gaseous and liquid forms. Hydrogen fluoride is used in a variety of industrial processes, including the production of fluorocarbons, aluminum, and other fluoride compounds. It is also a key ingredient in the etching of glass and the refining of uranium. In its gaseous form, hydrogen fluoride can be extremely dangerous if inhaled, causing severe respiratory damage and potentially leading to death. In its liquid form, it can cause severe burns upon contact with the skin. Due to its hazardous nature, hydrogen fluoride is heavily regulated and requires careful handling and disposal. |
